What we are looking for

Raven Care Ltd provides high quality home care in Haringey and across London, and requires dedicated and conscientious care workers to join our friendly team on a part-time or full-time basis. We're seeking caring and compassionate individuals who enjoy interacting with the elderly and assisting them with their daily living activities. Candidates must be warm, friendly, and possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a genuine passion for providing our older adults with high-quality care and support.

The successful candidates will be self-motivated, well-organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Proven experience in working with the elderly, in either a paid or voluntary capacity, is desirable, but we are open to applicants without any experience.

As a Care Worker, you will be required to provide exceptional levels of care to those people whom you look after. Effective care starts with a suitable ‘needs assessment', and you will be required to conduct one for every client or patient you are responsible for. Additionally, you will need to communicate effectively, be prepared to work long hours, remain calm under pressure, follow your training and guidelines, and show levels of empathy and understanding as required.

In addition to these important skills and attributes, you must be able to perform your duties as part of a team, raise any concerns you have regarding the care being provided, and be willing to follow organisational rules, policies, and procedures closely. Responsibilities and duties

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and using the toilet.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed linen.
  • Assist in the safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of clients.
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments if required.
  • Observe, monitor, and record clients' physical and emotional well-being, promptly reporting any changes to senior staff.
  • Encourage clients to participate in social and recreational activities.

Qualifications and skills

  • GCSEs, Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (RFQ), or equivalent is desirable, but not necessary.
  • Training in safe patient handling and movement is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
